All human beings need purpose in order to feel their lives have meaning. I believe a lot of the incivility towards each other that we see in the world today is due to so many humans living a life without purpose. Grace is an equally important concept. If you've been working on improving yourself and you ran into an earlier version of yourself, would you like that person? Remember, that earlier version was still you. You needed time to grow. Don't forget, so do other people.

This is an absolutely insightful conversation with Producer/Development Executive/Screenwriting Instructor/and Script Consultant Anna Henry. Does story structure equal boring? Did you find Ozark or the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel boring? Do you always need to show the inciting incident? They didn't on Dead to Me. Or did they?

FACT CHECK: During the conversation, Madam C.J. Walker, an African-American businesswoman, is referenced and mentioned as a person who built her wealth in the 1920's. She was even more amazing, she built her wealth before her death in 1919.
